Thanks, Nico.

When I was growing up and sometime in middle school it was Bulfinch's Mythology, originally published in 1855, that introduced us to Greek and Roman mythology. I've always believed it was a classic America textbook.

I agree with your suggestion and greatly reduced the brightness of the leaves at the brim of the helmet.

Pops, it looks like you had a great time exploring and photographing much older cultural topics! On the few occasions, I tried to photograph sculptures, I found it really difficult to get the lighting and composition right. It seems easy to lose all the texture and the 3D feeling of scultures, at least for me. I did rather nicely in this respect. I guess this one would be my personal favourite. (I might have been tempted to have a go at cloning out that bright spot (perhaps a background flower?) on the left edge next to his head-wear.) I have to confess that I do not know the literature you are referring to: my awareness of more classical stuff is shockingly non-existent. The further back I normally read is Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle. :-) Only kidding. Thanks for sharing your finds with us and for widening our (my) horizons. Regards jnconradie
