...and then, on a personal note, a lovely poem
written by my good friend EG Pizzella regarding
our recent trip to San Antonio, Texas:
A TRIBUTE TO SAN ANTONIO
An odd and ruddy tower looms above the flat terrain,
Not far from where the hallowed fortress stands.
Its futuristic form causes purists to complain,
Those who lack the skills of artists' hands.
Designed by Sebastian, as the city's invitation,
The tangled Torch of Friendship irreverently stands tall.
A symbol quite unique among the cities of the nation,
It graciously extends its hospitality to all.
Some call it a blemish, while others fawn with praise,
As it highlights San Antonio at history's divide.
Combining to form a captivating maze,
Here cultures old and new flourish side by side.
My trip across the country was complete,
When on the lovely River Walk I placed my wandering feet.
