Black Forest, CO

This shows you what kind of reading I do ":^). Something I was doing anyway, so I grabbed the cam and ... it'll do 'til I think of something else.

Very nicely done...clean and crisp throughout, which I think helps emphasize the technical nature of the literature. -Michael

Thanks for the kind words, Nico & Sharon. Haha, Sharon ... spellbinding, indeed! It is a pretty good stretch to call this literary, but at times it holds my interest for a substantial period. The only similarity to literature being its text, i.e. it uses the same alphabet.
Nico - The chrome thingy is a socket wrench and a ratchet driver and in this case is used to extract the spark plug from the open hole to the left where the plug wire doo-daa has been removed. I took several shots of this setting and I found this one the most pleasing to MY eye. I did burn-down the upper left corner considerably, as well as the upper right corner, to bring more of the focus to the wrench and the book. I used B&W cuz there was very little color in the shot in the first place.
Thanks again for the comments.
Cheers, -mikey

Excellent, Mr Shealy. Super bw conversion, interesting composition, adding the wrench? / chrome-looking-device-thingy? (*) was a nice touch.

(*) I regret to admit that I am not really even sure what it is called. My knowledge of all stuff mechanical is very close to zero! :-)

I said I would try (where possible) to add a comment along the lines of "Can I think of anything that could have made it even better?". Not a lot in this case, to be honest. I would perhaps have looked at slightly tighter crops, "losing" some of the top-left corner, but this is really a minor comment.

Thanks for the post. Regards jnconradie

Well seen, Michael! And really nice b&w. Not exactly literature in the classic sense but I bet it makes for spellbinding reading while you are trying to fix your car! ~Sharon
