Even though it's not original, this is well done with a perfect heart shape and sharp focus with a nice DOF. I've always wanted to try something like this too. Good one Lee! CJ

This is such a great image. I have seen and admired it before and am still mightily impressed. Julie

Perhaps, as you say, not original, but ever so well done none the less. I like the DOF you've chosen. -Michael

The first image posted and still a favorite. A simple concept, yet so well executed.
Definately gets a vote

Thanks Sharon and Nico.
Sharon, We don't have many hard back books in my house. But I thought this was a continuation from my Dragon series. 8-)

Super, Lee. I know I am "slightly" :-) biased... but I love the second version. Regards jnconradie

Wonderful, Lee! I like this second verison better. I have always wanted to try this too. I guess "Eragon" will do for this but it would be even better if you had a copy of "Love Story" to shoot against! I know, picky, picky! :-) ~Sharon

You are really quick off the mark! A couple of comments, if I may, Lee.

This shot has been on my own "to do list" for a long time and I think your post has now inspired me to also give it a go - finally!

I think you used the lens well to focus the attention where it is deserved, although I did kind of expect to see an even wider open aperture. I am sure though you tried different variations and this was the one that pleased you most, so it is just an observation, not a criticism.

Anything I can think of to enhance the shot? Not really to be honest. Perhaps even stronger directional light might have helped to make the heart-shaped shadow more pronounced? Not sure though.

Many thanks for kicking us off in lovely style. Regards. jnconradie
