What a wonderful and colorful chair! I had a different crop in mind from everyone else's - down to above the top of the reflection to bring the emphasis more on the reflection than the chair. It is interesting how we all see this so differently! ;-) CJ

Thanks, everyone, for your comments! It's interesting that almost all of you have a different idea of how you would crop this. I like the tension of the corners almost touching the edges and the way the negative space balances the colors. So I think I will leave it as it is but I do appreciate all your input! ~Sharon

As composition....(this is my personal view now)
I would crop a little from the bottom and add little bit to the right and bit more to the left (to make image more square)....Of course, it is up to you...Elena

Sharon, cropping and composition are sometimes nothing more than personal taste issues. Your image is quite effective just exactly the way it is! To me, the shadow formation and color refraction along with the bold colors and vertical format work quite well. One could also have done a horizontal composition with the bulk of the "white space" on the left side and your subject would still look really cool!
All that said, I was only trying to say that for my own personal taste, I try not
to put my subject so close to the frame edge. No matter, your image as you
can see from all the other comments is quite eye catching and pleasing.

Huh, he was born in 1969 and at 31 years old designed a chair which is now in the permanent collection of the MoMA...I am humbled. As for your image, Sharon, you've chosen a bold and unusual composition which is dynamite in my aesthetic. -Michael

Perhaps a little short on blue in the white areas. Very nice picture. The chair reminds me of the plastic juice 'glasses' we used in the late 60ties, when dining outdoors in summer :) (I'd crop from the bottom if anything.. the vertical location looks OK to me.)

It's hard to tell if white space should be added. I keep looking at it and loving the idea but maybe something cropped off of the bottom would be good. Have you cropped or added space in different ways to see what works best? (If you are like me, there's probably little time for that?) It's a tricky situation, but the way it is presented looks fine to me. Of course, I love those straight clean lines and bright colors. It got my attention immediately. shu

Thanks, Markjay! Hum, more space on the right? Do you think you would like this better if the chair was centered? I had thought of this as more of a picture of the shadow of the chair than the chair itself, which is why I felt free to cut off the back of the chair. But with that in mind, do you think there should be more space on the left as well? ~Sharon
