After photographing and combining images in Photoshop I painted it in Corel Painter9 (brushstroke by brushstroke) with Wacom digital tablet.
No shortcuts here, I am afraid, but still quicker and with more freedom then traditional paint. (Undo is a wonderful command!)
Final adjustments made back in Photoshop.
As for now it is printed on canvas (44"X52") and looks good but flat.
So I might paint it one day....( Or wait for the technology to print with the texture).
Best wishes,
Elena
Elena, please let me welcome you to the Challenges. ALL of your entries are fantastic, but this one is the most painterly like. I also would like to know how you achieved this effect?
However, I will be voting for Spirit of the Dead. Hey, we like what we like...lol
Really fantastic Elena, I love the blend of surreal and Post-Impressionist/Synthetist style of modern art... ish! (... this is me trying to pretend I know what I am talking about.... but even I am not convinced of that?) I googled 'Gauguin' and I can certainly see the connection here.
I really like your processing of this portrait, love to know how your achieved this.
