Thanks for the kind words, Nico, Trav & Bob. CJ, I've got to hand it to your intuitive detective work and thanks to you for your comments, as well. Warm fuzzies, -mikey

Well done Mikey, interesting to see these magpies, they are so different to the magpies we have down here.

Compliments also to CJ for the great detective work. ~ Regards Melbob

Yes, hats off to CJ for guessing the Artist...and to Mikey for a pretty interesting Comp image....especially interesting because I didn't have a hint that it was a composite.

Good work.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Michael, I think I did compliment you on this one (and the how it was done bit) in flickr, but for the record let me do so here again.

And a second compliment to CJ for her amazing powers of observation and general knowledge about the ranges of birds. I am very impressed! Regards jnconradie

In the year or so that I've been participating in these challenges I've noticed that there are very few of us who enter images of birds or animals, and one of those photographers lived in the black-billed magpie's range - YOU! ;-) CJ

Thanks, CJ. I'll bet that not one of the participants in these challenges would claim to have "mastered" Photoshop, and certainly not me. It comes down to having a vision of an image and figuring out what it takes to make it happen in PS, one step at a time. I'm learning something or other with most every picture I process, esp. these that I post to the Challenges. Now then, ... what gave you the clue? The birds? Warm fuzzies, -mikey

Great PP work on your composite Mikey! You guys and gals are way better at this than I'll ever be. I don't have a prayer of ever mastering these techniques! :-( CJ

This is a composite from these three pix:

Then, contrast upped, brightened and "watercolor" filtered in PS. -mikey

CJ, you're amazing, WOW! I'm flattered, thanks .. I think. Of all the folks posting images here, my "style of art/image", or my attempt to create an image in a particular style is recognizable, .. to you anyway. That could be good or bad ":^) .. What gave you the clue? Cheers, -mikey
