... and of course that meant I needed to rename the picture, because there was already a "Texture" in this gallery. -- Victor

Looks like we have a winner. I thought it was some kind of elm, but my books didn't have this one. Googling Chinese elm seems to have a good match, though. -- Victor

I won't keep you guessing the species, because I don't know myself. If someone knows what it is, please let me know. Here is a picture with leaves. -- Victor

I'd have a guess but then... I'd just be barking up the wrong tree LOL! Coming from down here I'd guess a River Red Gum?... Melbob

I'll guess the bark of a sycamore tree.

No idea what tree it is - never seen anything like it. I guessed same artist because they look like they're seen through the same eyes (same taste for patterns and colors). They could actually be of the same object at two different seasons and distances. There are som little orange dots in the next one as well, for instance. And then the silly deduction: They're uploaded nearly at the same time. The sum of this gossiped about same artist.

Is it a sumac? It seems not quite right for that but it is the only guess I have, lol! ~Sharon

You are correct on the bark part, but not the parasites. Can you guess what kind of tree it is? You are also correct that this and the next are by the same artist. But what makes you think they're part of a series?

I'll go with bark too. Very nice color and texture capture....

Bark here too... possibly with some parasite remnants in red? Another intriguing shot with a fragile elegance to it. I like the next one better though.. (assuming same artist - they look like two of a series). It's a little crisper.

At first I thought bark of a tree, but the guess could also be miles off. Wonderful texture though. Regards jnconradie
