Looks to me to be an inverted image (as per Pops...) of the combing of the bow section of a old wooden boat with a mooring buoy/(net to retrieve it) tied to the Bow rail stauntion..

I think this is an inverted image. Heck, I'm seeing a lot of inverted images, which is cool. Or is that just me. Inverting an image can add a lot of mystery to it.
