Purple Rose of Cairo-Take II

“It turns out that Baxter (Woody) has seen Cecilia (Mia) so often that he's fallen in love with her, hence his momentous decision to enter the real world. The pair run out of the theatre and into the open…”
This a composite of 5 pictures, the background is a mosque in Jaffa a half hour from my work, the camel belongs to a Bedouin family found while photographing wildflowers just coming into bloom, "Mia Farrow & Woody Allen" were captured at a recent family wedding, and the curtains & stage were shot at work.

I have taken the comments to heart and put the flat background where it belongs, in the back and put the actors where they belong, on stage! I took pictures of curtains and used a desk at work for the stage. Judi

Thanks, jnconradie, CJ, Melbob for the kind words. Yes I really struggled with the light on the two "actors" and I know it still isn't right. I have some ideas how to improve it if my poor PS skills will be sufficient. Will get on to it tonight! Judi

Beautiful sunset colours Judi, great composition and theme. 'Mia' and 'Woody' are very cute! You did a great job with the lighting but an almost impossible situation with such strong back lighting to avoid 'Mia' from looking a little 'detached' from the scene. 'Woody' looks a little more 'natural', his lighting is a little more subdued.

I think the 'full silhouette' of the camel and Mosque without any 'light spill' from a flash, for instance, is causing this. Maybe a catch light in the camel's eye might help to make it a little more three dimensional.

Regardless of this, it is a great comp. Judi, terrific job! ~ Regards Melbob

Lovely, Judi. The silhouette and colours are amazing. And the young actors complete the scene soooo well! Compliments and regards ~jnconradie
