The Grove In Fall

Shrewsbury, NJ

The Grove, Shrewsbury, NJ. Believe it or not I was standing in a parking lot. This tree stood alone on a parking median. I got as low as I could and after settling down, used a bit of zoom blur, which I never use otherwise. This one came out better than the lot, and with the appropriate colors... I present to the CSLR community :)

I'm torn here. I love the colors in this shot, and the blur does pull the tree out from its surroundings nicely - but there is a lot to be said for keeping a subject within its true context. I like the idea of shooting a naturally beautiful object like this juxtaposed with decidely unnatural and less beautiful surroundings. You did well to create a nice image separating the two, I would encourage you to try the opposite approach at times, too. -bee1000

Definitely interesting. My son, Pip, says, "It's like the tree of life or something." ~Lonnit

I think the zoom blur works well here...makes the vibrant colors kind of glow and draws the eye away from the buildings at the bottom.
