Lovely lighting and colors. Even though we can't see his eyes, I can sense some serious concentration here :)
These rock structures are, as I recall, called "cairns". We used to see and sometimes build them in wilderness areas to mark paths, especially across areas that are bland or barren where you'd otherwise easily lose a trail.
But in this case, the rocks appear to be precariously balanced so they probably would not stand up to much weather. So I suspect that this is more of a sculptural endeavor.
The timing is great here, since the tight balance try-outs are perfectly portrayed.
It illustrates very well that little still-time lapse right before removing the hands to test out if it works.
A "balanced shot", I would say...:)

Hi Nugar. Thanks for your comment. This fellow is placing a marker by the side of the lake. I'm not sure what the reason is but people like to do this. They carefully balance rocks on each other to make a kind of natural sculpture. I was above him on a bridge when I took this picture. Ann
