Windflowers *

Muskoka, Ontario, Canada

The wind turns a field of flowers into paintbrushes. The effect is from shutter speed, not Photoshop.

Lonnit: Thanks for the tips. I'll give it a try. --Paul

Oh, this is fine, you just need to give it some drama - you've left it a bit whimpy. Pull a strong S curve on it and burn in the edges and it pops with life! ~ Lonnit

This is absolutely wonderful! Thank you for this entry of true living color! Cindy

I like both a lot but as a stand-alone, the other one is better. This is a typical "follow-up'er". "Get my drift?" :P It's like music.. you need to hear the calmer start to truely enjoy and understand the later and "wilder" partitures. Nice work, anyway. Nice series.

Paul, as it happens I do prefer the other shot, but not for the reasons stated on my first comment. I've been looking on the net for an example of what I meant but I cant find one (next week there will no doubt be three in a line). If you imagine a small child sat perfectly still in the centre of the picture.Sharp and focussed with all the motion going on around.

It doesn't have to be a child, that's just easier for me to imagine and describe. Almost any object that looks at home in a field would work, provided it was sharp to provide the contrast. I still like the picture tho!

Najinsky: I almost posted another one that has less motion. By chance do you like this one better?:http://www.pbase.com/paulblock/image/46508458 --Paul

I like the image but I think the effect would work even better if there were a couple of key points not showing any motion blur, as a contrast. -Najinsky
