This is the armature (~16" in diameter) of a 1906 Westinghouse 50 K.W., 125 Volt, 400 Amp, DC Generator found at the Colorado Mining Museum in Monument, Colorado. It was used to generate the electricity necessary to run a mining operation and was powered by steam.
