I keep coming back to this one. The DOF and the colors are incredible. Well done. -- Bruce

Incredibly beautiful...
I would love to see the face profile more outlined but then the photo would lose some of that great "dynamic" quality it possesses.
It also has a "slide film" feeling about it that works just great.
...And those colors in India, those colors...sigh...
I wish people would stop using the word "Adobe" so liberally...It is a trade-marked, you know ?...lol...Strange world we live in where corporations can make theirs ancient old, commonly use, general vocabulary.

I too like how the color on this pops from the bland surroundings. Excellent dof with great detail in the foreground. Nicely done. -- Leo

I love the mostly gray background and the vivid colors of the woman at work. Wonderful! ~Sharon

This is a wonderful photo, Vikas! It's especially refreshing to see an actual person at work rather than all the buildings that are populating the galleries. I'm as guilty as anyone of posting "heavy metal" structures...as if we've forgotten about the "sweat" and "toil" part of the challenge. Please do let us see the final product of all her labor.

Thanks Alex, appreciate it.

Thank you Lonnit. Your comments always make me smile :-)

Thanks a lot Brent...

Thanks Cat, appreciate your candid observations and have changed the border as suggested. Really really appreciate your extremely kind words. And yes, this is indeed a Rajasthani Lady putting finishing touches to her house and decorating the walls with this piece of art.

Thanks RK. Regarding the b/g this was enhanced in PS to give a more pleasing bokeh.

Cheers, Vikas.

Vikas, great composition and colors. To me, its the background blur against the rich and sharp foreground that makes this picture special.
Just one question...is the background blur/bokeh straight from the camera or was added on in post-processing. I am surprised that the 24-105/4 could yield this very nice pleasing bokeh.

Thank you
RK

Excellent!! A classic scene from a small village somewhere in eastern Rajesthan, where the lady is finishing her own adobe. I saw this som many times, growing up in a small town in maharastra. If you get a chance, please show us the finished "colorful" product after she completes the work. It will be wonderful from what I can imagine.

Vikas, you have one of the best intution photographers have about what works and what does not and its very very rare to find anything wrong with your work so take my words with a grain of salt. In this case, I would drop the grey shadow and just leave a plain white border all around. The grey of the shadow is merging with the grey of the photo diluting the photo and also making it appear a little skewed. Just my observation.

I like how her body is inclined. It transmits the sense of extreme concentration and diligence. Very nice, Vicas.
