Bob I prefer the first image, not because this is too PPed because every photo needs some before it can be posted, but simply because the other photo is so nice as is, not boring at all in my eyes, it is a very complex piece of machinery very nicely captured. Judi

Thanks Mary Anne, yes it is the 'anisotropic diffusion' filter used here that gives it that 'surreal' artist-drawing type effect... not everyone's 'like' for sure but for me it is a learning process and I like to try different treatments of a theme... sometimes they work well other times I also go "YUK".
Much appreciate your comments, thank you and regards ~ Bob

I also like the pp you've done, but I think it belongs in a separate category because it no longer seems to be a photograph. Maybe we should have a challenge sometime that's just special effects.

I like this version, too. The post processing creates a one-of-a-kind artistic focus! I'm one who appreciates images that have been taken to Photoshop and given an artistic touch. shu

Thank you Sharon, I like this better as well... not so boring, and a little more expressive but I guess it is more 'photo art' than many would like? Much appreciate your comments ~ Regards Bob.

I actually like this a lot! I know many people don't care for this much processing but to me this version is much more interesting than your original version. ~Sharon
