Mary Anne, it is you who is the ultimate judge here, I only suggest.
Correction of verticals: in PS it is Edit\Transform\Perspective

Alexeig, I like your vertical straightening, but I agree with Shu that the colors seem a bit harsh...although more consistent with Mondrian's style. I use PSE2...where do I find perspective correction? The closest thing I've come up with is "skew," but it increases the file size too much for these challenges. It may have something to do with flattening the layers, but I don't understand layers at all.

Regarding the image in pending, perhaps the vertical lines have benefited from straightening, but when I compare the original image to Alexeig's version, I still like this best. Upon observation, I think the image in pending is a bit too harsh and something has been lost in the process. I would be interested in learning what others may think. shu

Mary Anne, I have taken the liberty to modify your image a bit along the lines below. It is now in Pending:

I feel that this image has a lot of potential. T improve it a bit I would suggest to use the perspective correction in PS in order to make verticals precisely vertical maintaining at the same time horisontals horisontal as they are now. A bit of contrast/saturation/USM will help too.

Mary Anne, I sent you a PM reply with a comment/suggestion. I'm not sure what workflow you use, and I'm certainly no PS expert but I do play lots and sometimes hit on a trick or two? Good Post ~ Regards Bob

Thank you, Sharon, and Shu. This is part of a larger image (mostly black) shot from the road at night, and I really wanted to crop it to leave an even black border all around, but my lines are not all parallel. When I stretched the upper corners, I was left with a file so huge that I couldn't resize it down enough without losing too much quality. I'm open to suggestions from anyone who know more about PSE than I do.

Overall, this image makes such a colorful pattern! (Pleasing to look at in spite of being a power plant. LOL) For some reason, I've never had an eye for industrial scenes, but you have found "art" in this one! shu

ps I've got to look up "Mondrian," since I'm not familiar with the word. See how much we can learn from these challenges!! LOL

This is wonderful, Mary Anne! I love the Mondrian-like divisions of light and color. Well seen! ~Sharon
