This is fantastic and a winner, I'm sure! I love the brightly-colored repeated "dwellings," and beautiful sky above. It certainly deserves a second look! Congrats! shu

My pleasure, A. :) I was thinking about this image this morning, as I drove the kids to school. We walked out to humongous flakes of snow and a light accumulation. A few blocks later, it had stoped. A few blocks later, the sun was trying to peek through in a manner very similar to this. I really wanted to just drop them off and run home for my camera, but my schedule wouldn't allow it. So, here I am again, admiring yours. :) ~ Lonnit

Many thanks for encouraging comments, everybody! Matt, I do want to have here a lot of sky. Lonnit, thanks for keeping stopping by!

Nicely done, Alexig. I really like your composition as it gives the architecture the opportunity to really stand out and the large sky area gives your image a minimalistic feel to it. Thanks for sharing this here. Markjay

Really really nice Alex. I love the clear bright colors and sharp straight lines contrasted with the soft color and texture of the clouds. Also love the warm tone buildings and cool tone clouds with one warm spot. This gets better the more I look at it. Wonderful. Ann C

Oh...Oh...This is just great...
Funny how I differ from Matt on this one. I find it would improve (...if that is at all possible...) by having the first, lower stories cropped which would result, proportionally, in more sky presence.
Still, it works nicely for me this way, also.

OK, now that you've won this challenge, can you give us a hint so long about the next topic, please? :-)

I am only kidding of course, since there are surely many more masterpieces to follow,so my comment is merely another way of saying, "very well done".

The buildings are spectacular, the clouds add just enough drama to compliment without stealing the show and the crop is also in order from my perspective. Compliments on a superb entry. Regards ~jnconradie

I like it, including the proportions. The balance is just right IMHO. Sam Attal

I really enjoy the shot, but think there's too much sky up top. You may want to consider cropping to 3x6 or even 2x6 to totally make the buildings pop out more. The other option would be to shoot it with a bit more foreground.

Cheers,

Matt

Yes! I like it.

Two things: 1) Not only is there great repetition, but wonderful bold colors, and 2) the texture of the clouds is a nice counterpoint to the buildings. Red/Gold/ . . . Soft/Hard. It all hangs together well. -- Bruce
