Nico, you're right about the problems with light and shadow here. The entire shaded area is practically black in the original, and I had to do a lot of selective levels, saturation, and contrast on it. The pixel count was so high by that time that I couldn't do the sharpening I would have liked and even had to lower the compression quality in order to keep the image under 150k. I'm sure there's a better way to do it, but my PSE knowledge is limited.

It looks as if it might have been a real challenge to cope with the sky and white wall, on the one hand, and the shadowy regions, on the other. I think you managed welll to strike a good balance. (Looks like alleyway I would probably not wish to walk into to take close-ups?) Regards ~jnconradie
