Ok, no more teasing...It was taken from the cable car that runs between downtown Funchal and Monsanto. The green pillars can be seen in the photo you posted, hence the "Look and you will see" pointer.

Hi PK, I do hope you will "put me out my misery" by the time this Challenge ends! :-) Unfortunately, I have no more bright ideas... Regards ~jnconradie

Ah, ah, ah...you are on the right track...actually you're already in warm waters and running the risk of going into scalding ones...lol...

Very interesting... I have not been to Madeira, but have always understood this to be the ultimate place for tunnels upon tunnels... and then some more tunnels. I had in mind that you might have taken this from an overpass, something along the lines of the scene depicted inhttp://www.pbase.com/dlporter/image/33647561 ? Not the case? Then I will have to think a bit more deeply! :-) Regards ~jnconradie

Thanks Najinsky and Jnconradie !

The proportions of the road were just a little bit accentuated from a bias the shot already had (they were accentuated through a tiny, tiny perspective crop).

The reason for the unusual perspective is due to the shooting position and range (check the exif regarding focal distance)

As for where was it taken from, I think I am going ahead and turn this into a fun quest...Where do you think it was taken from...? (not the suggestions already made by Jnconradie, no...)

this is going to be fun!

Really interesting! How in the world do you get into a position above a tunnel entrance/exit? Is there some bridge over the road? Or did you have to hire a helicopter? :-) Compliments! ~jnconradie

Really caught my eye from the thumb nail. Full size, I really like the colour and dynamics, but the proportions of the road don't feel right. - Najinsky
