Thanks Bee1000 for the input, this is a mostly black bird, the color you see was brought out in Shadows/Highlights in CS2. I gave it another try but have not been very successful, tried curves, dodging, but it looks unnatural. Need to work on my PS skills. Judi

Nice composition of an oddly willing subject. I would try lightening the darkest parts of the bird to bring out a little more detail.

I was lucky, he waited till I focused and let me take a couple of pics before flying off. Judi

Amazing that this one sat still long enough for you to have captured. Well done. (I usually one get empty frames or half-blurred birds already semi out of the frame whenever I try to capture hummingbirds!) Regards ~jnconradie

Thanks Anne, this species is fairly common in Israel, getting them to pose is the problem, I was lucky to get such a clear shot. Judi

Wow. Love his curved beak. None of our hummingbirds have a bek like this. Nor such a dark brilliant head either. Fabulous shot. Ann C

Usually they just flitter around, but this guy must have felt right at home on this plant, but he didn't stay for long either! Judi

Beautiful shot, what incredible colours, you must have drugged this guy? I have never seen them still! ~ Regards Bob
