Very nice Lonnit! The color and composition are great. Nice bokeh with that Lensbaby too. CJ

Dorys, with such a great imagination, I wasted my time loading it! LOL!

Pops, WOW! I am very flattered by that comment. I'd no idea a Lensbaby image could look like this either. Normally, I'll bend the lens, and that gives it that WHHHHOOOOOSH! feeling. Here I was only pulling the lens in, evenly, to the point of focus. This resulted in a WHHHHHOOOOSH!-less image. I was so shocked with the results. Lensbaby is coming along for the ride far more often, if this is what I can get out of it now. I think that background is gorgeous and wouldn't have believed it was a Lensbaby pic if I didn't take it myself! LOL! ~ Lonnit

As I've said many times before...
I don't like lensbaby.
I've never liked lensbaby.
I've never seen a lensbaby photo that I thought was any good.

Until now.

Lonnit, you may have the one and only lensbaby photo in the world that I like. This may be the only lensbaby application that makes the lens worthwhile. This photo is excellent. Gulp, did I say that?

I still don't like lensbaby.

LOL! Funny, Dorys. I'll upload the original to pending, for the curious, since it's being referred to in this thread. ~ Lonnit

See Lonnit, you're finally getting comments. The Lens baby did a great job. I didn't see the original version but I can imagine it in my head and can tell you I do like this version better. :-)

Nico, I too prefer the golden version. I posted the color one temporarily until I get one of the other shots up there. I was curious if others felt the same. At first I liked the other, but once I had this version, I thought it blew the color one out of the water. I appreciate all your wonderful comments. :)

Sharon, I didn't think the Lensbaby would give good bokeh, when Joe mentioned it. I even went back thru my files to see if I had any good Lensbaby images to put in exhibition, but they didn't feel bokeh-ish. I wanted to give it a fresh shot though, so I grabbed the cam and went out shooting. BTW, it seemed very funny to be putting a $99 lens on a $3200 camera! LOL! But, heck, look at what the dang thing can do! I used the Lensbaby to only focus, without adding distortion, for most of the shots. I just LOVE what it did to the background here. I think the monochrome really does justice to the background shapes and soft texture - the color being a distraction to it, inhibiting the beauty of it.

I just cannot get over the job the Lensbaby did. So, a special thanks to Joe for the inspiration that got me out there with it. :)

What a great photograph, Lonnit! I definitely prefer this over the "original" colour version. Superb golden tones, pleasing composition, excellent use of the light, nice "bokeh"... I mean what more can one ask for...?

[ OK, if you could have had Matt's ladybird-bug posing on one of the reeds, it might have added some additional interest. :-) Only kidding. ]

Compliments on a superb entry. Regards ~jnconradie
