Thanks for the comments. Seems like people like cats!

jnconradie: I belive the full model number of this particular gadget is a Silver Chinchilla Exotic Shorthair. Although I gather some would also refer to him as a tipped/shaded chinchilla. No doubt a breeder somewhere is having kittens over that particular description!

Jim: I got 3 shots off before he was gone. A blured one of him turning and a nice sharp one of the back of his head. But I'm really pleased I managed to get this pose, although I'm sure the purple element will bug me after the challenge.

Fun image - what a beautiful cat! It was very nice of him to pose so nicely for you! CJ

Great capture of one of those fleeting "cat's in the right pose" moments :) I really do love the angle of his head and eyes and that expression. You couldn't have asked for that to be any better in my opinion. Very nice. Jim H.

Beautiful cat, Najinsky! - and a great sense of humour. I am no cat expert by any stretch of the imagination, but he looks like a "chinchilla" to me? Or am I totally off-track? Regards ~jnconradie

I predicted that, Najinsky. Nothing I said takes away from the feline glory your nice execution captured. It happened to me, say, a million times when I regret not pushing that shutter in favor of fixing DOF, exposure, etc.., and I totally understand. I forgot to say that the feather color reverberate with the lip and ear skin color very nicely. Greetings. Sam Attal

Sam, yes I agree. It was actually an opportunist shot. I had placed the purple feather on the bed while I was photographing the shoe (prior image in this gallery). I turned around an saw him next to the feather and just took a shot with the settings before he moved (about a millisecond later). When I reviewed the image and saw the expression I wished it had been a shallower DOF. I contemplated PS to blur the background but with all that scruffy winter coat coming through and the feather, I decided against it. - Najinsky

Thanks for the nice comments. His name is Kayatan and he is very photogenic but he doesn't seem to like men so it can be difficult for me to get close to him. - Najinsky

I like the idea and execution, but I find the background a little distracting. I would have preferred a more contrasty blurry one. My taste only. Sam Attal.

I love your title and comments. The photo itself made me smile, but when I read what you said, it turned into a big grin. :->
