I too have all the "Far Side" books, including the "Pre-history of Far Side".
I find his work utterly hilarious. It is pure genius the way he can make the most bizarre story unfold in a single drawing cartoon, sometimes even without a caption. It's a shame he stopped creating TFS and just publishes occasional work now...
My wife thought I was finally going completely beserk, as I kept giggling while setting this one up.
The operative detail to me, in this shot, it's the life-like stance of the "head" and the truly "chicken-like" stare we are presented with...I am sorry but it is just too funny...

I also love Gary Larson ( I have just about every Farside book). This shot has a wonderful feel to it. Excellent textures. Well done.
