Well it certainly grows on me. This is a much more "magical" image and the colors relate. I like that it's a little darker than the original upload also. Some crispness is gone in the forground rocks, you may want to look into that when you get on your feet again (But NOT before!) Avoid oversharpening, eat vitamin C and Get Well Soon.

Oh.. and one more thing: Needless to say, calendar and text here would go on the right side ;)

No its no typo its me, used +20 instead of -20 cyan.. obviously not thinking too straight at the moment. This bug has really got me down, havn't been able to eat for three days, slight improvement today. Here is another attempt, not the best yet but I can sure see how it works. I have different blues in the sky probably the result of my previous masking/sat. adjustments. Can fix all that later. Thanks for your patience. Back to bed for me. Regards Bob.

Sky too purple. Walk through the first section again.. if this is the result, I've made a typo.

Thanks Kiki_2 for your terrific workflow ideas. I dragged myself out of the cot, had to try it. Here is my first attempt using your technique, it is better but I need to have a play with it later. Still feel too bad to continue. Thanks again.

Thanks Melanie, yes I have been playing with this and used one of the many copies. Here is the original file with adjustments as suggested by K2. My usual way is to apply a mask and erase sections to enhanced background, which is why I sometimes end up with a 'discord' in saturation/lighting. ~ Regards Bob

Beautiful landscape of stones and sky. I am now seeing a slight blur to the right of the stones--is this where something was cloned out perhaps, or just me :)? --Melanie

OK. The main assetts here are landscape, horizon, cloudy sky. The landscape is the most striking, with that fairly even horizon, nicely dividing the image in two.

I see two problems though: The saturation seems to be higher on the blues in the sky than on the landscape. Which is why I initially wondered if this was a composite of three. I find the pale saturation of the landscape most pleasing, and the sky a little disharmonic in comparision. It's like they live in two different colorspaces.

The second problem: The hard contrast between the sky and very dark horizon in effect brings the horizon *closer* to the viewer. Is that desireable? A landscape like that is one that can stretch forever. Why not try and increase the depth in the image by bringing the horizon even further away?

That way, the essense of a "desolate landscape stretching forever" picture would be enhanced. Thinks me.

I'll post how-to based on PSCS2 to your PBase account. Basically two quick and easy steps, but too long to write here since I don't know your PS skills.

Please do, congrats. on your raise etc. I think the general consensus is that we no longer need the * to invite comment. I am interested in any suggestions, so please feel free to tear it apart. I use the exhibition to try all sorts of wierd and hopefully (one day) wonderful things. Regards Bob

This must be my lucky day.. I got a 3K raise, a lift home and now this! ;)
Nice rocks :) You haven't added a "*" so I'm a little hesitant go on nitpicking.. shall I suggest something to try?

I remember now, the reason for taking this photo, wanted to get max. DOF so the boulders were in crisp focus. I told my mates to go away so that we could see the original photo. Here it is ~ Bob

I think I would have liked the landscape photo better on its own. Those stones are just marvellous. Even cut in half just above the horizon, that image would have been beautiful. The problem with the people there is that they are less detailed than the landscape, and the color temperature is colder. The reason they seem to float in thin is mostly because they lack credible shadows. You did a nice blend job btw. I even zoomed in on the image. Didn't find many traces of the surgery :)

This is a composite of two pics, one shot in Melb and the other in the Snowy Mountains NSW. Yes it is hard to fool the light isn't it? I tried to paint shadows but got too impatient. I probably also do not have the proportions correct, the bodies seem not 'connected' to the environment. Regards, Bob

Is this a composite of two or three images? The light seems to be coming from different directions. Surreal feeling about it.
