He Watched...My Wanton Love * Traveller

The Getty Villa

In Antiquity, much of the white marble we now admire was painted a variety of wild colors and the head busts usually had white marble inlays to make the eyes stand out. At times, this could be very startling and...they obviously had senses of humor.

(I might add that though this image matched its vision from inception, this is V.4c, as I keep repairing this or that perceived flaw, which is why it keeps changing).

Wow. Those eyes do stand out! He's positively leering at the object of his desire :) I'm not sure that I'd have noticed without your description, but now that I have, I can't help but to see them and smile. Jim H.

Dear Lee: Thanks for asking, but many of the flowers are lavender tinged...but this did not seem enough, so I took the stand alone flower, left side, set off against the black, upper third of the image and used a color eyedropper to enhance this a little more...I could have and still could go for a deep purple on that specific flower...but I was trying, among all the wildness in this image, for a naturalistic effect. I have it saved as a 16bit tiff so this would be easy enough to acomplish...just a V.4d...lol)

But I will note that these Challenges, especially with all the variations, sure is eating up my hard drive. Best Wishes, Traveller

Maybe my monitor is not purple friendly, but I cannot find any purple in this shot.
