That's just great. At first, I was wondering how you got those repeating reflections. It looks so good that it's hard to believe that it's a PS job. Extremely well done! Jim H.

Very nicely done, technically almost flawless. In fact, I would say too good. The frame is so convincing it dominates, and I have to keep telling myself it's a portrait of you. I'm sure that's a complement, I think. - Najinsky

Very skillful Alastair, I was thinking of a composite mirror one as well but gave up when I saw your post... blew mine out of the water! B&W was a good idea for this. Regards ~ Bob

Thanks for the comments everyone. The more I looked at it, though, the less happy I was with the B&W conversion. I spent so much time photoshopping the pictures within pictures that I rather rushed through the original B&W conversion in my haste to get it done with. I've now redone the B&W conversion to give more texture to the skin tones and to the wood at the left.

Thanks. It took quite a while. An hour or two, I'd say.

Excellent concept and great PhotoShop skills. It must have taken hours... or at least that it how it looks. Congratulations. Regards ~jnconradie

Thanks Matt. It was a bit tricky, but would have been next to impossible without Photoshop's free transform ability. I made a copy of the original, shrank it a bit, and then pasted it on a layer. Then I used the free transform handles to fit the copy into the picture frame. I repeated this a couple of times. Then I flattened the image, made another copy, and repeated the process with this copy (which now had four nested pictures within it). As I got towards the middle it got really tricky because of the steep angle.
And yes, Alastair is a man (not an uncommon name in the UK, especially Scotland, but virtually unheard of in the US). My wife, Diana, was the cooperative model in the other shots.

Great PP! I think this is harder than it looks because the distortion of the repeating image keeps changing to a steeper angle. It is a clean job. well done.

See I thought Alastair was a woman! Must have been your wife in th absolut commercial or behind the Mac Laptop. :-)
