Very poignant image and an effective ad. I like the way you used the copy to reinforce the image with the person lying on the newspaper. CJ

Thanks, Photocat! :-) I am just hoping I do not get sued by the them over copyright infringement relating to their logo! :-)

Thanks, Cheryl. I appreciate your compliment.

Thanks again for the comments, advice and suggestions, Traveller, Chris and JudiB.

This Challenge made me realise that creating copy for advertisements is much more difficult than I thought - and definitely not my strong suit! But thanks for the advice. I am learning a lot! :-) Regards ~jnconradie

Traveller is on the right track. I think that the original text was too large, and just spaced out too much. You have a very strong image that does the talking, it really doesn't need a lot of text. I would minimize the text, and let the viewer read the image, and then explore the text.

I Greatly prefer the original version. The message is so strong here that you do not need to, nor should you, beat the viewer over the head with it. A deft hand is needed here and I think that your original instincts were correct. Just one persons opinion...but I feel strongly on this. Best Wishes, Traveller

Chris (and others), I would be interested in hearing from you whether the bigger/bolder approach works better? Also, I lightened the wall slightly in order to make the text more readable. Thanks and regards ~jnconradie

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Appreciated.

Chris - thanks for the constructive comment... and I would be really delighted to hear from you if you have a specific suggestion(s): bolder? larger? different font? placement ideas? Copywriting and ad-creation is very far from my forte! :-) By the way, your comments are always a pleasure to read: insightful, honest and cuts right through to the real issues.

I think this would be really effective as an ad. The low contrast, noisy, worn look is just perfect and the small amount of color draws attention where it's needed. Very good. -Arn
