Am I alone in finding this image somewhat gruesome. Striking, but a little unsettling.

This is some piece of artwork! Thanks for the description and the full view in the thread. Maybe calling this "5 Pairs of Ribs..." might make it seem more on topic for some? Love the red color of the "lungs" contrasting with the ribs too. CJ

Generally, Chris, I tend to agree with you...but here I cannot. First, I think the ribs do predominate in the image, not the spine...in truth, the way they are reaching around they remind me of the creature from Alien that fastens on your face. I think I know where he got the idea for that fantastic beast now...and it is the circularity of the ribs that inherently give the image depth...to me.

I was, and am, constrained by the topic of the challenge...five, a different angle would produce more ribs than I needed...for this dinner...lol Best Wishes, Traveller

Traveller, I really like the colors in this image, you have done a good job in capturing them. I don't think that the balance of the image emphasizes the them of the challenge, five, it reads more as a detail of the spines relationship to the ribs. As I have said on some of the other images, I think that this image would be more dramatic with a little less balance, and possibly a slightly changed angle, as the current angle makes in overall image flat.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and other view in the discussion thread, Traveller. It really helped! The colours are eerie, but in a nice way! :-) Regards ~jnconradie
