Thanks, b.c. I have to admit that I don't always like photos that are "tidied up" and too neat and orderly looking, depending on the subject, of course. Thus, I felt this one might benefit from my out-of-kilter perspective. It's nice to find at least one other person who agrees with me.

Normally, I might lean towards (sorry, bad pun!) correcting for tilted perspective in my own building shots, using the Transform command in PS. However, in this photo I think the asymmetric tilt gives it a much more rickety and dynamic feel. I like it, as is!

Don't feel alone in your being "confused by perspective distortion", Mary Anne. I have to confess that this is also one of my weakspots when it comes to post-processing. Perhaps one of the Guru's in the Challenge will give us a short "how to" explanation? Regards ~jnconradie
Thank you. I'm always confused by perspective distortion...never quite sure which vertical line should remain vertical, so I generally just tilt the whole thing. Of course, if I learned a bit more about PSE, I could avoid this sort of thing.

A really interesting find, Mary Ann. And of course the washing line makes it more than just another run-of-the-mill building picture. (I canot help wondering if it would not have worked better if the shot was taken more perpendicularly, if that is the right word, i.e. so that the right side of the building would also appear more upright?) Well done in any event. ~jnconradie
