Ok, color version it is. thanks on the feedback.

Nico, I would have had to create some sky in order to include the whole tree. Which could be done and would be nicer. :-)

Definitely the color version! Love the composition but the color really makes it! ~Sharon

Colour version hands down. Good effect, looks like its *over*processed to get the richness and it works for me.

I like the divisions in the image, that you've achieved with the composition. A rule-of-thirds composition in a square image is something that (to my surprise) I haven't seen very often. The composition is somehow 'mechanical' in a nice way. -Arn

I suspect the tree was cropped to make it square. If the tree were complete, and more space was left on the other side of the house, I wouldn't mind the extra freedom. It's a lovely image, albeit a bit cramped upon itself. I like the simplicity of color - blue, green, yellow, white is all she wrote. :) Very nice. ~ Lonnit

I adore blue skies, Matt, so my preference is certainly the colour version. (But the bw is splendid in its own right.) Compliments! [ What follows is merely a question, not a criticism: why did you decide to crop off a part of the tree? I am just being curious... and learn a lot from how the "pro's" do it.] Regards ~jnconradie
