Thanks, I agree that the shadow adds dimension to this photo.

The background is plastic laminate that looks like a natural stone countertop. However in the untouched image and at this extreme magnifcation it looks like cheap plastic laminate. So I masked out the corkscrew and applied a gaussian blur to the background. The change is significant. - Pops

Fun take on the topic, the shadow does indeed add lots of interest. The background has particularly nice texture and color. Is it cork? -Michael

I like the picture, Pops. I think the shadow just add that extra bith of punch to it. Some type of marble table top? Regards ~jnconradie
