Definitely an improvement. This is not as blatently obvious as the same crop centered, but it does work, in a mellower way - which is not necessarily a bad thing with a glass of wine. :) ~ Lonnit

Yummmm...you got my attention, love merlot. I did get a chance to see the original version and I do like this new version. It's simplified the original and is bolder. I also love the capture of the deep red hues of the wine in the glass...that's the genuine article in the glass, yes? However, I do have to tell you that I now think it needs a slight counter-clockwise rotation...not much, .25 or perhaps less, at least that's my perception. Am I too picky? -Michael

Thanks, Lonnit and CJ. I liked your cropping suggestions and decided to incorporate both. Larry

Since I'm having a hard time taking pictures for this challenge, I hope you don't mind if I did a little editing on your picture as I like the idea and the elements in it very much, but the centering didn't look quite right to my eye. I'm certainly no expert and others may have different ideas on it, but here is a another way of cropping this image with still a lot of leading lines to the wineglass. Nice idea and nicely shot. :-) CJ

I'd prefer it cropped just above the wine glass Measure the distance from the top of the stem to the bottom front edge of the base. Use that distance and go from the top of the stem and measure upwards. Crop at that point. To me that relieves the boredom of the centering of the glass and takes away the unnecessary space at the top that adds nothing to the image. This also draws more attention to the bricks that all point towards the glass. ~ Lonnit

Cat, thanks for the feedback. You're right, the bright flowers were too distracting. Larry
