Techo - Thanks for your comment. Truth be told, it looks best (to me) in B&W. I'll post before and after, after. Your imagination is painting the colors nicely, its really pretty bland in color. My earlier statement Re: You should see it in ... was to indicate more of a LACK of color and possible dissapointment on the part of the viewer(s).
Thanks also to thefly, M.K., iso3200 for your nice comments. Warm fuzzies, -mikey

I concur that this is indeed a wonderful capture but think the B/W fails it. The grasshopper looks unlife like, like set in stone. Just one of those pics that would work better in color.

Lots of comments already, but I can only add that this is a standout shot.

This is indeed a fantastic shot. Don't get me wrong this is very very eligible, but probably the colour shot will be doing it even more justice. (hint - can you show us when the challenge is over)

Cute little fella, looks so light and fragile.

You Guys!! ... I'm so grateful for, and at the same time humbled by, your comments. Thanks hardly fit when you are all such accomplished artists and I feel like such a rank amateur in your midst; I really don't know what to say ... except, warmest fuzzies to you all. (You should see it in color ":^) -mikey

Amazing, Michael. I could never have imagined a grasshopper that small and light! Well spotted. ~jnconradie

Great image! I'd be thrilled if a bug picture took the prize (yes, I think it's that good). Maybe a tad more depth of field would have been good. -- Victor
