Re: backbone reflex... I guess you are right, that must be something I made up. I don't know where I got it from - it is not Danish nor Swedish... Some things you do all the time without even thinking about it, like breathing or keeping your heart beating. Actually, those are controlled by the brain stem, which is located deep down in the brain and extends up from the spinal cord, but those things can't be considered reflexes. A reflex is a 'stereotyped motor response elicited by a defined stimulus' (lens cap off is the stimulus - lens cap to pocket is the motor response). It is mediated by a reflex arc in your spine (= backbone) - the brain only gets a forwarded message, so to speak. By the time it registers in your brain, action has already been taken by your body. A 'backbone reflex' therefore, would be like a blink of your eyes when some unidentified object comes flying right towards them - or - we could just call it 'second nature', I guess.
Nice in color but not nearly so lovely as BW. Sorry to hear about the lens cap. BTW, what is a 'backbone reflex'? I've never heard the expression - must be Denmarkishible. ~ Lonnit

Thank you Lonnit and Cindy! It cost me the lens cap of my beloved 135/2L. I don't know how or when, but when I was going to put my camera away - it was nowhere to be found. That has NEVER happened to me before - I always put it in my pocket as a backbone reflex after taking it off - must have fallen out of my pocket somehow... I guess it is pretty easy to imagine what this looks like in color, but if anybody is curious, it can be seen here:http://www.pbase.com/olafdk/image/61284595
Olaf? Really - I wouldn't have guessed. This is absolutely lovely! I love the lighting and the sparkle in the grass. What an absolutely novel approach to a dandelion. I've never seen one shot from this angle. I LOVE it! Do we ever see flowers in profile in images? Most people go for the face shot. The rare creative goes for the rear side. But profile? Kudos to youdos!!! ~ Lonnit
