Thank you for revisiting. Yep, I tweaked it a bit. --Melanie (mlynn)

not sure if I am seeing things, but it looks like you did a little tweaking since I last saw this photo. it feels like there is the slightest bit more punch and doesn't feel so flat, which I like a lot. The rhythms of the water and sand show better, as well as the reflected clouds. I understand where you are coming from. if this were a print, subtle would work great I think. For the web and for this challenge, punchier is good.

Thank you for the comment. Hmmm, I honestly don't know. I think perhaps my monitor is different from most people's, and things appear brighter to me than to others. I liked the subtle detail in this one and didn't want to take things to extremes, but perhaps I should have tweaked it more. I actually liked it better when there was a hint of toning to it--before it went completely greyscale. --Melanie (mlynn)

amazing find. can't believe nobody has commented. would dodging and burning help to dramatize the photo a bit?

Under the new Greyscale rules, this excellent photo will need to be reprocessed to remove all traces of color. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Jim H.
