over the top

The last light of sunset over the peaks of the Marin Headlands illuminates the top of the north tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, framing the top of the Transamerica pyramid on the San Francisco skyline. With a nod to cindyd, whose images have shown me that I'm only beginning to really "see" the bridge.

Cindy, get yourself a corporate sponsor and go for it. Artists do this all the time. Propose the project to camera companies, print houses, printer companies (Epson, HP, Cannon), and all kinds of other places (Nike!).

RE: the human-made vs. nature made idea. Yes, it could take years, even a lifetime to fully develop a collection that was really really good - not to mention travel all over the world. But the possibilities are endless - Well, time is wasting - we better get started. lol. Cindy

Thanks Nico. Traveller, thank you so for the kind words. Stick to your rule, it's a good one. Well, at least it's a rule that I've had for years and it works for me.

Cindy, oh yes, a print exchange...that would be great fun :-) Also, I love the idea of man-made vs nature-made side-by-side. That would be a very taxing exercise, no easy challenge to pull off, but the image rewards would be extraoridinary. oooh, I'm all excited about the idea. -Michael

Wow! Beautiful . . . maybe a print exchange should be considered Michael . . . :)

I was shooting peaks today too - but a little different in meaning to the word:

You know, this makes me think. I've thought about putting together a collection of images with man-made and nature-made scenes side-by-side that show strking similarity . . . would be an interesting exercise . . .

I had a lot of fun just viewing this, Michael...Scrolling down I kept asking myself, Cindy or Michael, Cindy or Michael? There is just wonderful detail at the very top, and the framing...well, there's double framing and both are just superb! This presents a problem for me in that I would of course vote for your Pears, and deservedly so, but now there's this. Maybe I'll have to break my rules and do a double vote for you...because both are so very good....Still, if this be a problem, it is a good problem to have. Two images too good for words. There is in me also a certain satisfaction in seeing again that you are among the best out there in doing Scenics. Just great work by you. Best Wishes, Traveller

Nice play with words on the challenge topic, Michael! :-) And a great piece of photography, too. The red, white and blue work very well together here. Regards ~jnconradie
