Mono

Australia

It's rare for me to do a mono conversion and to take a very nice colour photo and turn it into black and white is extreme for me.

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/125s f/8.0 at 34.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I understand ... I use BW very sparingly too. Very elegant picture

You know, I've been smilin about this one since it was posted and I read the caption. For someone who professes to dislike mono, you do damn fine work Gayle. It's really lovely. -Michael

My feeling is that the masts don't need to be on the rule of thirds, because so many other elements in the frame ar. The horizon, the smaller boat, the pier. And I'm a good one for breaking that rule anyway.

Nice "out of the box" entry, Gayle. I guess one could say, "xtremely NOT what the textbooks would recommend". Beautiful sky and clouds. Should one have tried to get the larger masts slightly more to the right (a la rule of thirds), or am I now really into nit-picking mode? :-) Your comments would be welcomed. ~jnconradie

LMAO!!!!!! I'm looking at this thinking, "How the heck is this on topic? What's so extreme?". Then I read the sig and blurb. YES indeed! This is QUITE extreme!!! LOL! Did you cry when you desaturated? LOL! ;) ~ Lonnit
