Thanks Lonnit, appreciate it. :-)

Thanks Michael for your comment, I really really appreciate it. Should have removed it but just read your comment..... guess shouldn't now cause that may cause problems with the voting booth.

THanks again. Cheers, Vikas.

I've purposely not commented on images as to whether or not they are "on topic" in my opinion. I think that's very easy to do with a technical challenge. After all, images either are or are not wide open aperture, they are or are not wide angle. With a subjective topic like "In repose", that's much more difficult to do...it's, well, subjective. When I participate in these challenges, I tend towards a wide interpretation on this style of topic because I'm always amazed at the depth and breadth of topic interpretation by the participants...it's one of the things I enjoy so much.

Vikas, since you asked how I feel, I'll try to explain. This is not an image I would have expected, even the title "Intense" seems the antithesis to "repose". Yet, the challenge would indeed be boring if the only images which appeared were what I expect. My last instruction in the challenge guideline is, "It's wide open, let your imagination take you to a peaceful place and capture the image". While you were exploring images of these kids relaxing and swimming at the pond, you captured an intense moment of expression. It is a different interpretation than I expected because I would have expected images that give me an immediate sense of repose. You've given me something unusual, something I didn't expect. So, bottom line, if you are comfortable with this image representing you in the challenge then I am perfectly comfortable with this image as an interpretation of the challenge theme. -Michael

I too wondered @ it bieng on topic but the blurb validated it. We've all certainly seen our share of overstretched validations, but this is not one of them. If Lonnit the rulemeister thinks you're ok with it, you must be ok! LOL! ;) ~ Lonnit

Thank you Lonnit/Micheal appreciate it.

Thanks Gayle/Phil and I do see your point of view. I can easily see that this is difficult to relate to the topic; I guess I took Michael's theme explanation a bit too literally ;-) ... went with the 'repose by the pool' definition for this one. Guess it is stretching the theme .... :-(

Would love to know what Michael feels and am perfectly okay to remove the pic if not within the theme guidelines.

Cheers, Vikas.

I'm with Gayle on this: fantastic candid (though we wouldn't expect anything less from you), but tenuous for the theme - and that's despite reading Michael's definition which includes "he took his repose by the pool"...

I love this, Vikas, it's a wonderful candid portrait, but I'm having real trouble linking it to the challenge theme.

Taken last Sunday when this boy was swimming in a pond. He got out of the pond to take a breather and was just standing by the water's edge when he turned for a few seconds in my direction and I pressed the shutter. Cheers, Vikas.
