Dear Terry, Thanks for the tip on where to go. For others, here's the link.

I particularly liked this image because it showed the work behind and how the mechanism actually functions.

Hi,

Thank you both for your comments.

I can see what you mean about how the people will effect the perception of her size. The idea behind getting rid of the people would be to make it look as if it she was by herself, relaxing, with no disturbances; trying better to fit in with the challenge. However, as you have pointed out, the people give the viewer a better perception of her size and, as it is, its a valid picture for the challenge.

The reason I cloned out the cables on this image was because they weren't connected to her and just lying on the ground.

Also, if you think she is big, you should have seen the elephant!!! If your interested search flickr for "sultans elephant"

Cheers - Terry.

Terry, welcome to the challenges. She is phenominal! I too am good with people in this shot. The scale is extraordinary and the people make that so very clear. Fun! -Michael

Hi Terry, I think that your photographic skills are just fine. A few points, were you to crop out the people, and this is certainly doable, I'm afraid that she would lose her monumentalism...I mean she's big, and without people she might lose her scale of size. I'm good with the safety tape...take it or leave it as you decide...maybe better gone, but who knows? Another question would be, is it worth the work? I speak only for myself, but because I have an intense other job, I become discusted with working on an image after a while.

Is it good enough? Does it convey the scene or what I want relatively well? It so I post it and seldom look back. Sometimes yes, usually no. I don't know enough about you to advise you one way or another. Your call.

However, as with most London or Irish parks for that matter, there is...maybe...a little green tinge to everything in the image. I've played with this image of yours a little, (-8% sat, -10% green, -15%red, +10%blue), trying to make her look more natural in the skin tones. I've even used eyedroppers to hopefully mimic other skin tones in the crowd...no luck.

This is not really important, I love the image...and so this depends on your frustration level. I've got a big day tomorrow so I've gotta go to bed...but maybe you want to play with it. Maybe also, if you are a Londoner, balancing greens is something you should become good at regardless. (Remember, this is only one person's opinion, and I could be all wrong). Best Wishes, Traveller

Hi,
Its funny, I cloned out a lot of things in this image (rope, cables, etc) but left that bit of tape. Its gone now. Do you think I should attempt to clone out the people? It looks like a very tough job but I think it may make it look more like a relaxing photo and more suitable for the repose challenge.

Thanks for the comments. I have been watching these challenges for a a while now and although I know my photography skills arn't there yet (as can been seen in these photos) I thought its about time I submitted something. - Terry.

That is one big puppet. Very cool shot.
(*) Might consider cloning out the caution tape.

Two great images. Thank you so much for letting us see what is going on in London. The second image is of course funny...I wonder if they used beer for the foam effect? Best Wishes, Traveller
