Thanks for the kind comments :) No I don't raise these things lol. Must be some kind of mating season for them. Was taking a stroll by the shore and with every few steps or so, saw one or two of these bugs. No swarms though. Did see a couple of totally black ones, first time for me. Took one home and placed it there, and it was nice enough to stand there for a minute for me to get a few shots. Then flew off and landed on me, I had another chance for a couple of pics before it flew off for good, right after the outtake photo was taken. -Techo

Where you are getting all these bugs!! :-) And... bugs that hang out on your blue jeans, long enough for you to photograph them, PERFECTLY!!!!! This one is THE winner if I were voting today but alas, there will no doubt be more excellent images coming to make the voting just that much harder, sigh. Down to business... the color contrast of the lady bug against the blue background is outstanding, the composition works well and your DOF is obviously very effective. Great job! Markjay
