The Virgin Mary In Blue Jeans, With Roses and Shoes * Traveller

Please note that I've tried to balance this having the Virgin glancing to her right, but the leg is forward on her left. There will be variations on this I'm sure...I've to 9 days left in this Challenge and 20 images to play with. (Oh this is going to be Difficult--I've aready replaced 0534, which I liked well enough, with 0526 {and this is the 4th version of that}...with at least another dozen to go) Best Wishes, Traveller

This is a really fun looking image. The colors sure do have pop to them, just find the yellows just a tad too bright but then on the other hand, it sure does radiate nicely around the painting. Just find the stump too bright, it fights for the focal point.

hmmmm...the Virgin of Guadalupe in jeans, how jaunty is that! Great color and I "seriously" like the reversed shoes :-) -Michael

I didn't even realize Olaf commented on the shoes. I think the backward positioning of the shoes matches the odd combination of the pants and the painting (and other things). Had they been the right way, the picture would still have worked, but I think being backwards adds just that little bit extra. Boy was that not eloquent. Perhaps I'll try to gather my thoughts and post another comment. -- Victor

If you hadn't told us how it happened, I'd have believed that the shoes were done intentionally - and I like it that way. This is a very interesting photo to say the least! Jim H.

There is something unmistakingly Traveller about this image. You have done similar things before, the portal, the icon, or whatever you want to call it. I immediately came to think of this:
http://www.pbase.com/cslr_challenge/image/56750451 and know that there have been other cslr-entries along similar lines from you. I don't remember in which challenges, so I looked at your pbase galleries and found these that are not as close, but still have some of the same flavor:

There is a nice touch of humor in this one and I love the opposite shoes...
