I didn't think to do any noise reduction on the photo. Even at 1600 it looked OK to me. (Contrary opinions welcome.)
Thanks Sharon and CJ. I love this work, too. Its quite large and hangs from the ceiling of the museum's atrium. Because flash and tripods are prohibited, I cranked the ISO up, and stood almost directly below the work with my head flopped back and the camera resting on my face. I'm just grateful it's in focus. Even out of focus, though, the colors would be beautiful. He's quite an artist.
These are absolutely beautiful! I had no idea who Chihuly was but now after seeing his work on the web, I'd love to own something by him. You've done a great job of capturing the intricate and colorful beauty of his glass blowing work - nice composition and lighting. Even at ISO 1600 I don't think noise reduction is necessary.
