Excellent shot sergio . . . I meant to vote for it but somehow it slipped - sorry! Cindy

The blue tint to everything really makes this nice. It has a cold feel to it. Very ominous.

Great image, Sergio! The repeating pattern of circles, boots, and halmets makes this work well. I'll take a different view on the subject of "to tilt or not to tilt"....
I think part of what makes your image powerful are both the repeating elements and the fact that your focus is on the men and the mass number of them with their riot gear ready.
By keeping the image horizontal (as oppposed to tilted) you could then have filled the frame with nothing but those three elements (no building in upper left corner). In my eye, the image presented without tilt, would then emphasize even more, the three "sections" of the repeating patterns... the upper bodies / faces, the shields, and the boots. Great work! Thank you !

The tilt is brilliant Ser! It makes this a statement about power. It leads the eye down, down, down. Very nice interpretation! -- Bruce

Just Excellent...The powers of the State...Unbounded. Fear deeply for yourself. Best Wishes,

Very dynamic image and it probably would have looked good straight on too. This almost looks like something out of Star Wars when looking at just the shields and the boots. Good shot :-) CJ

I'm ok w/ the tilt. What would make a very interesting image would be if it were straight and you cropped off the whole top so that all you see is the circles and the legs! The legs are amazingly robot-like. ~ Lonnit

Thanks for the tilting advice. None though I might be suffering some kind of physical leaning problem???
Maybe the camera lens is getting too heavy on me.
I have taken straight and tilted form low and high, and the idea of unbalance such a rigid formation really appeals to me. (hope my english is understandable, me Tarzan...)
No I don't shut weddings unless there is a fortune involved (as it was in my own).
This was taken in a protest against a bad economy minister who wounded badly my country (Argentina) many years ago during the military process. It's got very ugly last night over here.
Thanks
Ser

Sergio must be a wedding photographer. They love the tilt!!!

I like the shot. Where is this? Portugal?

I don't like the tilt. It makes the picture look contrived. -- Victor

I have to disagree with olaf. I think the diagonal makes it. It would be static and boring if shot straight.
Guest 25-Mar-2006 17:17
I am not sure I dig the tilt - anything wrong with it straight? I do like everything else about the shot, though.

This makes a very strong statement, Sergio. The diagonal composition and the color really give it a sense of foreboding. Good work! ~Sharon
