This mandala is the handiwork of Tibetan monks during a recent visit to the US. The monks used colored sand to create the mandala, painstakingly placed on a plastic mat using tapered tubes. The tubes have scalloping on them, making a particularly distinctive sound as the monks rub wooden sticks on them. it's an interesting cultural spectacle.
