Thanks for the comments. The face was really lit by an additional spot lamp because i wanted to emphasize the facial expression. MCsaba

I like everything about this except the brightness of the boy's face, which seems rather unnaturally lighted. I actually have a few very similar shots without the brightly lit face.Sparklers are fun to photograph. :-) -The Doctah

Hi Olaf, the ball was really the technically difficult part. I made several trials and the picture here is actually the very first shot, the following ones were worse. Originally i wanted a more perfect ball, but realized that this is the maximum i can achieve. MCsaba

Great idea and lovely photo! The 'ball of fire' is so perfectly spherical, it makes me wonder if this is a composite?
