Again, many thanks for all your comments.

Cindy, put it on your list for a future visit. It is indeed a fun place for photographers. It never seems to be overly crowded, one can always get off the desired shot with a little patience. I've always been there in the afternoon and my conclusion is that the light in the morning would be best for the red brick casement arches. I'm going to give it a try.

Traveller, high iso on the 20D always amazes me. It was indeed my only choice but solely because the tripod was in the car and I was too lazy to fetch it. I did apply a very small amount of noise reduction with Noise Ninja due to noise the deep shadow areas, but it was minimal. I also did some painting with light to enhance door frames and the arch, but I was very fortunate that the late afternoon light was so lovely.

This image has amazingly lovely tones and textures...and the structure with the doors lead the eye into the depth of the picture. What has surprised me is that you've used 3200iso so successfully. I would have expected to see tons of grain or pixalation...and there is absolutely none to be seen. Further it seem that you had no choice except to to high iso because of the available light.

So in the final analysis what I really appreciate is that you saw a very difficult image to capture, maybe even seeing it largely in the dark, and then pulled it off, making the image seem like it was taken in the blushingly good light of the day. Kudos back to you, Sir. Best Wishes, Traveller

Great light and nice soft colors in this. And, of course, a wonderful use of perspective. Very nice! ~Sharon

Very plesing tones and depth in this Michael. I really wanted to go down to Ft. Point when we were at the bridge . . .we started, but decided we didn't have the time to do what was on our list if we did. Plus we had a kid on crutches. I can see it is worth visiting. And how fortunate you got a shot with no people in it for this. Cindy
