Red Chair (*)

This was done for the CTF Mini Challenge #69 - Painting with Light, over on the Canon EOS 300D/350D Forum.
The chair was traced in a pitch black room with a laser pointer which doesn't throw any light.
I could not see the chair at any time and had to guess where it was by the way the red dot of the pointer reacted.
The red squiggles in the background are when I "lost" the chair.

It was just that it was screaming SKETCH so loundly I didn't hear someone shout RED! LOL! The subject took dominance over the color. The story isnt' about the color you used, the story is about the interesting technique. Even in your own discription, the word 'red' comes later. ;) But, like I said, still a cool image! :) ~ Lonnit

Thanks, Traveller, you made my day! Lonnit, I can't believe you didn't look at this and say "red!" I am disappointed but not entirely surprised as you said to fill the frame, which I didn't do. But I felt that the red is so predominant in this that one hardly notices the black background. Thanks for the nice compliment anyway! ~Sharon

Dear Sharon: This is Really excellent! I don't mean this badly, but I didn't have a clue who took this delilghtful image...surly I thouught one of our best photogs, (Michael Soo?, or Puff?), and so I was very pleased to see that this was a slap the head moment for me...Smart image, close to perfectly executed, who else????????? Cool and interesting technique. It was the image and technique that I responded to first, not the color, so I'd say this image is not about color. To me it's about a very cool line-drawing of a chair. Reminds me of something one of the old masters would have drawn! ~ Lonnit
