Thanks Bob! I put this up more for the fun of it. Also thought it could be part of the debate of what constitutes a minimal photo.

I really like this but I don't know whether I would like it so much if hadn't seen the photo it was based on and understood how it was created. This bugs me because I'm normally quite hostile when asked to consider the story of how a piece of art is created when judging it - to me visual arts should stand on their own and not require supplementary prose. As to whether its a photo, my logic says it started as one and remains one since all you've done use photoshop to manipulate the original image in ways that we all do all the time. Its just a bit more extreme!

Victor, I _knew_ you'd pass the IQ-test! 3x2 is the minimal amount of pixels that can represent a full photo in the 3:2 aspect ratio. Had to use "nearest neighbor" when resizing back up to get such clean lines between the color patches. Six squares - six tones of red - pretty minimal, but is it a photo?

I vote for your previous entry resized to 3x2 pixels, then resized to this size. In other words, it's a red car. -- Victor
