And yes, a clock was dismantled for this. It was put back after the photo... :-) -Cat

Thanks Melanie!!! You made my day!! I am so glad that you recoganized and pointed out the subtlety in this photo. Since you did this, I will tell you one more thing about this photo: Nowhere in the photo does it give any clue if this is a "minute" hand or an "hour" hand. What if this is a minute hand, then the time can be 1 O'clock, 2, 3, 8 anything... right? But if it an hour hand, then it has to be mid day or mid night. "Mid" is the key here... thus in a wierd way the mind tries to place the time (in this case the clock hand) in the middle of the photo... call it an optical illusion if you want. I wanted to keep this as minimal as possible, so I just said "Lunch Time" and not lunch hour if you notice. 90 above 100 marks to you and D for reading the "work". I appreciate the "time" you gave to this photo. -Cat

Very nice Cat, what a beautiful clock hand. Was a clock dismantled for this :)? I've looked at this image several times and like it. Just now, looking at it, and I didn't notice this before, my mind wants to drag the hand over to the center--as if then it would feel like noon. Weird. (It's probably just a mental thing.) --Melanie

Thanks D. I am glad you noticed it. Yes those are valid alternatives. As to my choice of the clock hand: This clock hand is "age" independent and "language" indendent. Even a small kid will recognize this as a clock hand, giving it larger viewer base. "12" was not an option for me, because what if an non english viewer sees it... will he/she understand "12"... Anyway... Thanks for your feedback. -Cat

This is really the essence of the challenge I feel. Great job. I wonder though if a less elaborate clock hand might fit in just a tiny bit better...or perhaps a simple vertical line with a "12" there...that'd be smart too!...none-the-less very cool!
